Dr Damian J Kelly

Dr Kelly was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton in 2011. He is a high-volume interventional cardiologist (PCI, coronary angioplasty and stenting) and has published research papers and book chapters on myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and aspects of interventional cardiology.  

 

Dr Kelly gives opinion across the breadth of general cardiology including heart attack and acute coronary syndrome.

• Clinical Director for Specialist Medicine, UHDB (2018-)

• NHSE East Midlands Cardiovascular Advisory Group (2015-2018)

• Clinical lead for cardiology, UHDB (2015-2018)

Medico-legal experience

Dr Kelly has completed expert witness training and sits on the medical panel for Inspire MediLaw and Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA faculty 2019). He has provided reports for both claimant (60%) and defence (30%) and as single joint expert (10%).

 

Dr Kelly aims to provide completed reports with in 6 weeks of instruction.
